You can integrate ShoutOut with Lineup Ninja by asking ‘ShoutOut’ questions on your submission forms.

ShoutOut is aimed at anyone who wants to create video testimonials, event videos or social media videos. It simplifies the video creation process and enables your submitters to provide video content with very little fuss.

How to add a Shoutout question

To add a ShoutOut question to your form, you’ll first need to link your ShoutOut account to Lineup Ninja. It’s straightforward, but there are a few steps involved.

You’ll need your ShoutOut ‘Organisation’ and ‘Project’ Ids from ShoutOut, and to configure the ‘webhook’.

Follow this procedure:

  • Go to your ShoutOut dashboard
  • Click the profile icon on the top right and choose ‘Settings’
  • Click the integration tab
  • Scroll down to ‘Lineup Ninja’
  • Choose the project you want to integrate
  • Make a note of the Organisation and Project ids
  • Now click ‘My Projects’ in the top menu and choose your project
  • Click the settings icon in the ‘Build your template’ section
  • Scroll down to Webhooks and expand the section
  • Input https://api.lineup.ninja/shoutout/v1/event into the ‘Webhook URL’ field and then ‘Save and Exit’.

To add the question to a form, do the following:

  • Navigate to the Submission Flow’s Configuration page
  • Decide which section of the form you want to ask the question in.
  • Hover over that section and Click ‘Add question to <section name>’
  • Scroll to the bottom of the dialogue pop-up
  • Choose ‘Add a custom question’
  • For the Question Type choose ‘ShoutOut Video’ (you might need to scroll down the list to find it)
  • Input the Organisation and Project Ids you noted above
  • Edit the question and button text as required
  • Save the question

Please be sure to test a submission before publicising your flow to ensure it works as you expect it to.

Submitter Experience

On the submission form, the submitter will see a button to upload a video like this:

When they click the blue button, they will then see the ShoutOut video upload experience, which looks like this:

Once they’ve finished recording and editing their video, they can choose to download, view and share, or delete their video.

Note

The submitter can only delete the video if that question is in a Submission Stage where that question is editable.

For example, if you have set your submission flow to lock the question when the submitter submits their form, the user will no longer be able to delete the video.

If they choose ‘view and share’, they will be taken to a ShoutOut page that contains their video and gives them options to share their video via various social networks. It looks like this:

Reviewing Submitters’ ShoutOut Videos

You can view submitters’ videos in one of these ways:

In an individual submission

Click into the submission and scroll down to the ShoutOut question. There are buttons to either download the video, or go to the sharing page (see above).

In the list of submissions

You can add a column to the Submission List table. You’ll then be able to see the download and sharing buttons (see above) for each submission in the table that has had a video uploaded.

To add this column to the Submissions List table, click the settings wheel near the top-right of the screen, choose ‘Add A Field’, then choose ShoutOut question.

In submission reports

The ‘Download video’ and ‘Share video’ links each have their own column in Submission reports
